12th Annual Holly Day Parade

Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 1 PM.

 

First Saturday of December, 1pm!

Important day of event planning and check-in Information


Streets will close at 12:30 and the Parade Kicks Off Promptly at 1pm. Please arrive before 12:30! Please do not park along the staging area, walk to check-in confirm your locations in the line up then park at the designated location to avoid traffic congestion.


Volunteers: please report to the check-in station between 11:00 & 11:30 noon. Fair only volunteers, please report between 1:30-1:45, unless otherwise instructed. Check-in Team, please report before 11am. At check in we will then confirm assignments and provide any additional materials or information at that time.

  • Please see attached maps for check-in station and approximate fair and parade staging locations.

Parade Participants: To avoid traffic congestion, Larger vehicles, Marching Bands and floats are requested to please arrive by 11:30am and report to the check in station. All other participants please report to the check-in station between 12 noon and 12:30, plan accordingly for street closures. At check-in we will confirm your arrival, and distribute any car signs, beads, candy canes and participation ribbons specific to each entry.

  • The parade starts at the entrance to Forest Ridge through Forest Ridge Circle and runs west towards Old Orchard Road.

  • It generally takes about 1 hour to complete the 2 mile walk/ride. It is recommended that everyone brings bottled water. There will be some water stations just in case you need more. Don't want anyone overheating.

  • Groups that have not already been notified they will receive beads or mini-candy canes to throw are wel-come to bring their own wrapped candy, gum or throws beads. This is not mandatory. All dignitaries will receive throw beads.

  • Please see attached maps and approximate staging line up.

  • The Line-up will be sent out by no later than Friday of days and there will be markers indicating where each group is to line up.

Fair Only Participants: please report between 10am to 12:30 to set up tables, chairs etc., unless other arrangements have already been made with the Parade Committee. After set up, you may then leave and return by 1:30pm, being mindful of street closures.

Parade Participants, after the parade don’t go home! Come join us on ‘the green’ where the party carries on at the fair with music, food, games, and even more fun hosted by Bart Reid.
